What is the 0B5 S-Tronic DL501 gearbox?
The 0B5 (factory code DL501) is a 7-speed automatic DCT gearbox with a wet dual clutch, built by BorgWarner for the Volkswagen group. Note: After every mechatronic repair a full computer adaptation of the clutches and a learning drive are required. Without them the gearbox may keep jerking despite a correct repair.
S-Tronic 0B5 (DL501) mechatronic unit repair
An S-Tronic 0B5 mechatronic repair is a rebuild of the integrated hydraulic-electronic unit of the DL501 gearbox. It is the first and cheaper repair route – enough when the codes point at the mechatronic unit alone (P17BF, P17A4, P17A5, P189C, P1895) and there is no clutch slip under load.
