- Patient:
- Audi A6 C7 3.0 TDI quattro S-Tronic
- Symptoms:
- Jerking when pulling away, delayed D/R engagement, codes P17BF and P17A4
- Repair:
- Mechatronic unit rebuild, clutch actuator repair, adaptation reset
0CK S-Tronic (DL382)
Job completed: 0CK S-Tronic oil service
- Patient:
- An Audi with the 7-speed 0CK (DL382) S-Tronic gearbox
- Symptoms:
- Booked in for an oil change – the gearbox pan was wet with oil and visibly leaking
- Repair:
- Full oil service: mechatronic unit removed, internal filters and seals replaced, new oil pan fitted, refilled with the computer-guided fill procedure
DQ250 (02E) DSG
Audi S3 – whine in 5th and 6th gear
- Patient:
- Audi S3 with the 6-speed DQ250 (02E) DSG gearbox
- Symptoms:
- Whine/howl while driving in 5th and 6th gear, no fault codes stored in the OBD system – the classic sign of a mechanical failure (shaft bearings)
- Repair:
- Complete gearbox rebuild: worn bearings and bearing races replaced, clutch replaced, clutch solenoids in the mechatronic unit replaced, internal and external filters replaced, full mechatronic unit clean, whole gearbox cleaned of metal debris, all gaskets and oil seals replaced
6DCT450 PowerShift (MPS6)
Ford Mondeo MK4 2.0 TDCi
- Patient:
- Ford Mondeo MK4 2.0 TDCi PowerShift
- Symptoms:
- No reverse gear, it drove forwards but jerked, fault code P073E
- Repair:
- Mechatronic unit rebuild, solenoid replacement, adaptation reset
7DCT (D7UF1/D7GF1)
Hyundai Tucson 1.6 T-GDI
- Patient:
- Hyundai Tucson 1.6 T-GDI DCT
- Symptoms:
- Only the odd gears worked (1, 3, 5, 7), no even gears and no reverse
- Repair:
- Clutch actuator replacement, calibration, adaptation reset
CVT Lineartronic (TR580 / TR690)
Subaru with a Lineartronic CVT – code P0971 and a cascade of warning lights
- Patient:
- Subaru with a Lineartronic continuously variable CVT gearbox
- Symptoms:
- A flashing AT OIL TEMP light, Check Engine on together with the ABS and VDC lights, the gearbox behaving abnormally, and code P0971 stored in the gearbox control unit
- Repair:
- Removing the sump and the valve body, measuring the resistance of every solenoid cold and after warm-up, inspecting the internal harness under the valve body cover, replacing the failed pressure control solenoid, refitting with new seals, filling with the correct CVT fluid and running the adaptation procedure (AT Learning Mode)
